ICYMI: December 23-30, 2016

As we count down the last few days of 2016, I’m sure a few of you are glad to see the back of it. But before we greet in 2017 let’s take a look at what happened on Imgur over the past seven days.

1. This week, the world mourned the loss of Carrie Fisher and then a day later, her mother, Debbie Reynolds.

The community took the time to also remember lesser known celebrities who also sadly passed away.

2. As is tradition on Imgur, Christmas Day is the one day of the year that it is acceptable and actively encouraged for Imgurians to share a selfie. We give you Selfie Day! This year the selfies poured in from Imgurians all over the world and from all walks of life.

I cant post this anywhere else on social media but 6 years ago on 12/21 I tried to commit suicide. This year on 12/21 I passed my last certifications to become a special education teacher.

6. An Imgurian survived 17 days lost in the Canadian Rockies.

He planned a ten day solo hike across the Rockies, but, after losing the trail, it turned into a mission of survial.
